This package allows management of hand punch attendance units quite easily.
Pros: The application allows management of set of hand punch machines placed all over the enterprise, connected directly, over modems or on a network. The package running on a single machine allows management of the resources as well as personnel who use each individual machine for a location.
The interface is quite simple and intuitive. First level options are about deploying these machines, adding, deleting of stations. Other important part is the attendance log and authorized personnel who can use each of these. Calibration, bell schedule, adding/removing user and back-up and restore of logs are available. Transferring a user from one station to another is done easily too. Date & time including time zone settings are available and conveniently set from the control machine.
Besides the menus and icons on top, the screen area is mainly a status page that shows individual machine status, one can add enough identifying text to identify individual stations.
Cons: The package seems to be optimized for Intersoft’s attendance systems HANDPUNCH 4000/3000/2000/1000 etc. They have the necessary communication/network support. However if other make of attendance machines are to be used, there may be a need to modify the package depending on the communication and command + control protocol that particular brand supports.
The package handles the stated functionality quite well. Good interface and simple enough control procedures. Overall rating is 4 stars.
